Raiders look to keep rollin against Rockwall

The Wylie East Raiders took care of business last Friday against cross town rival Wylie High. The Raiders will look to carry over their great play as they travel to Rockwall to clash with the Yellow Jackets in another district game.

The Yellow Jackets who also beat Wylie High will be coming off a loss to Rockwall Heath 21-13. The Yellow Jackets are a mere (2-2) in district and will be ready to stop the Raiders fierce run game with the stinging punch of their defense. The Jackets have had a season plagued with turnovers and will have their hands full against a surging Raiders defense that has dominated most of the year, and will look to put the ball into the Raiders hand that put up a decisive 63 points against Wylie. Jabari Anderson and Kevon Mack will seek to find gaps on the ground against a struggling Yellow Jackets defense. Garrett McCain Who has passed for 16 touchdowns with an astonishing one interception will look for Marcell Ateman to be his likely target.

The Yellow Jackets leading tacklers Zachary Farrow and Jared Farrow will attempt to halt the surging offense of the Raiders. The Jackets offense has struggled at times. Wesley Davis the starting quarterback has just seven passing touchdowns to go with eight interceptions on the season. The Jackets run game which has a total of 11 touchdowns on the season, will seek to trample over the Raider’s defenders as they look to gain ground in district.

Both teams will be playing hard under the lights in Rockwall and will seek a victory. The Raiders have to continue to be free of mistakes and wear defenses down with the run in order to open up the passing game.

The Jackets will have to force turnovers in order to make up for the turnovers they will probably make. Davis will have his hands full with the rising Raider’s defense and will have to maneuver and make plays without costly turnovers.
