Fitness gram is coming. It is a series of tests developed by scientists to test students on their physical abilities on all levels. There are multiple types of testing: aerobic, muscular strength, endurance, flexibility and body composition.
In the aerobic tests, students are evaluated on the pacer test, one mile walk/run, and the walk test, for ages 13 and older.
For the muscular strength, endurance, and flexibility students are evaluated on curl-ups, trunk lifts, push-ups, sit and reaches and shoulder stretches.
For body composition they test a little differently. They only test height, weight and percent of body fat.
Students not involved in band, athletics, PE, drill team or ROTC will test March 8 and 9. Girls will test March 8 during first and third periods and may come to school in athletic dress and will be allowed to remain that way for the rest of the day. Boys will test March 9, also during first and third period, and allowed alternate dress as well.
