This year a new program has opened up for students who want to pursue their dreams of being a chef.

“I took this class because I want to become a chef and it would help me achieve my goal,” senior Monica Soto said.

Culinary II students have been working on a kid to kid recipe book.

“It’s a book of healthy snack recipes that elementary schools can make,” Soto said.

This project has three judges who choose three recipes for elementary schools to serve during lunches.

“Our main priority is the kid’s recipe book to show to the judges,” Soto said.

This program helps students learn to cook for the future.

“It’s shown me how to properly dice vegetables,” Soto said.

This class has helped students learn new things about being a chef.

“It’s helped me learn new equipment in the commercial kitchen,” Soto said.

Chef Toni Sloane encourages students to take her culinary program.

“I think if you want to become a chef this class will help you achieve that goal,” Soto said.

In the culinary class, Chef Sloane teaches students to look at food costs and if they’re profitable.

“Every student should learn how to cook to know at least the essentials of cooking,” Chef Sloane said.
