Autumn is one of the most busy times of the year, and with so much going on, it’s easy to forget about the last day on the calendar- Halloween. Costumes can get expensive, or can become difficult to achieve, so a last minute costume is the way to go if you’re running low on time, money, or ideas. The following ideas are five unique yet simple costumes for Halloween, trick or treat, or a dress up day.
- A Cat: This is a simple and cute costume. All you need is a black outfit and face paint. You can wear all black, or a black top, or a dress, but it has to be black. Black cats are perfect for the fall, for the stereotypes of bad luck they often are associated with, and it is a spooky yet not scary costume. With your face paint, draw a cat nose and whiskers. If you have an extra few hours, purchase a pair of cat ears, and the costume will come together flawlessly.
- A Skeleton: This is a super spooky costume that is perfect for the scary season. If you want a costume that is simple, artistic, yet spine-chilling, a skeleton is the right one. All you need is face paint or makeup. There are plenty of tutorials online that show beginners how to use eyeshadow or face paint to create cool shadows that resemble a skeletal look. This can be paired with a ghoulish grey outfit or all black.
- A Leopard: Similar to a cat, this costume is cute and quick. Last year, the Halloween costume trend was a leopard, inspired by the song “Glamour” by Wipo. To do this costume, all you have to do is wear brown or dark clothes and do some cute leopard face paint. There are plenty of tutorials on the leopard look.
- A Witch: This costume is a very classic Halloween look. A witch costume can have varying levels of difficulty. For example, you could simply wear black and a hat, or you could get a broomstick, a dress, face paint, and a hat. The most important part of the look is definitely the hat.
- A Zombie: To become a zombie, the only necessity is face paint- particularly green paint. Zombie costumes also have varying degrees of difficulty- you could go super simple or super intense. A green outfit or a distressed denim look will also pull together the costume and bring it all together.
