The College Club took a trip to Texas Women’s University and North Texas University Sept 26.

Signed up for the trip was mostly sophomores, with Mrs. Katie Fox and Mrs. Emily Whittle supervising. The purpose of the trip was to show students their options for college and help prepare them for their future.

“They have a very diverse campus and lots of clubs to choose from,” sophomore Joan Lavaki said.

When they arrived first at UNT, they were given a tour of the campus, and shown videos about student life there. They talked to the students about the different courses offered to try and peak their interest.

“My favorite campus was UNT. I like that it’s close to home,” sophomore Brittany Berger said.

Next up on the trip was Texas Women’s University in Denton.

“They didn’t provide a tour for TWU, but Mrs. Whittle let us walk around the student union and look at the campus,” Lavaki said.

College Club is a way to show students the options they have after high school, and help them make the right choice for the careers they want to pursue.

“I like that it gets us prepared for what we want to do and where we want to go and the goals we have for ourselves,” Berger said.

The College Club goes on multiple tours of campuses all over Texas throughout the school year. They have another trip coming up to Southern Methodist University in Dallas Sept 30.
