Student Council mummifies participants during Red Ribbon week

Giving students a chance to participate in a mummy wrapping to wrap up drugs Oct. 28, Student Council, sponsored by Angela Arp, stood in the commons area during all lunches.

“We wanted to incorporate an activity to go along with drug awareness,” senior Sarah Lam said.

Students joined up as pairs and were timed to see which group could wrap their partner the fastest with toilet paper

“I chose to spin so Hunter could help me wrap faster,” senior Kayla Canava said. “It made me really dizzy. So I came to the assumption that some drugs have that effect on you.”

Student Council planned Red Ribbon week, held Oct. 26-30, for two weeks. To promote awareness, STUCO members displayed posters and fliers around the school educating readers about drugs and their dangerous effects.
