Seven students placed in district UIL this past Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Though none of them advanced to the regional meet, they all received a medal for making it in the top six places in their event. There people are sophomore Joshua Dorsey placing sixth in calculator applications, sophomore Jack Hue placing sixth in computer applications, junior Lindsey Hutchinson placing fourth in editorial writing and fifth in news writing, sophomore Ana Meraz placing fifth in prose interpretation, sophomore Kasey Hunkins placing sixth in spelling and vocabulary and sophomore Caitlyn Bogart placing fourth in feature writing. This is the first year East has competed against 4A schools.
