JROTC is coming to town \\ Checking out at the Wylie Walmart Colonel Brooks McFarland shows JROTC the true meaning of Christmas. Every year, members of JROTC cadets go class-to-class collecting money from their peers and teachers to purchase gifts for the Wylie Way Christmas Angels. “We were able to raise more money this year, which was really cool because we could give even more presents out,” C/1Lt TJ Garvin said.

Reading the room \\ Mrs. Ashley Dame, choir director, videos the choir’s fall Concert in the gym, where they have never recorded before. “The choirs did amazingly well considering all of the obstacles we had, like having to sing with face shields and having to be so distanced,” Choir president senior Jamie Gammon said. “It was hard to adapt to not being able to hear each other well, but the performance was beautiful and blended and showed tremendous growth.”

Front of the class \\ Colonel Brooks McFarland teaches his third period JROTC class synchronously, where he instructs both remote students and on-campus students simultaneously. Remote learners listen in via a Google Meet. On Wednesdays, the cadets must dress in their uniforms. Remote learners are expected to follow the same dress code as the on-campus learners.
