Bundling up for winter

Students should be allowed to wear winter coats in school

Winter is coming up and more and more people are wearing coats, sweaters, long sleeve shirts and hoodies.  In high school, most students have grown as much as they are going to and they have paid a lot of money for the clothes they wear.

Students should be able to wear their winter coats whether they are in dress code or not.  A jacket that is not a solid color is not going to hurt anyone; the only thing it is going to do is keep someone warm.

Purchasing a winter jacket can be a big investment.  Some jackets can cost up to $100 or more and students don’t want to pay that amount of money to just have it thrown down the drain at school, if they cannot wear it five days a week.  Honestly, what is a stripe on a jacket going to do to anybody?  It’s cold outside and students are generally cold in school anyways.

Although students are required to wear a solid color jacket, nobody is going to be hurt if somebody wears a camo jacket.  A color does not always represent something bad.  Students should be able to wear a multi-colored jacket to keep them warm through the winter.

Students should be able to wear a jacket other than a Raider or solid color jacket especially since it is cold.  We do not have time to go to our lockers and get things out; we do not use our lockers on a regular basis, so therefore we should be able to wear our jackets all day to keep us warm.
