College. College. College. College banners, college posters, college window stickers. College teams have taken over the school this week. Teams such as Baylor Bears to the Texas Longhorns.

Journalism and yearbook adviser Casi Thedford attended Texas Tech University and graduated in 2002.

“I majored in Agricultural Communication,” Thedford said.

Thedford struggled in her math classes which caused her to drop out after three years.

“And then I went to my boss and he encouraged me to go back. So I changed my major into something I was more interested in,” Thedford said.

Thedford lived at home for her freshman and sophomore year because it was affordable and close to her family.

“Stick it out. If you get discouraged, think about ways to make it easier,” Thedford said. “The struggle is nothing compared to what life could bring you later without a diploma.”
