Students get creative when asking dates to homecoming
Knock, Knock. Who’s there? Your homecoming date. Senior James Rosales used this age old joke to ask Junior Billie Watson to the homecoming dance at a football game Sept. 18. Rosales had the Sapphires turn around to their officer, Billie Watson, and yell “Knock, knock!” Once she asked who’s there, Rosales was there to ask her to homecoming.
“I was so surprised. I didn’t know he was going to do it at the football game,” Watson said.
Junior Josh Radkowski surprised his girlfriend Sophomore McKenah Stanton with the help of his newspaper class. He asked her to homecoming in the cafeteria. Radkowski told his friend to pass Stanton a note that read “Turn Around.” When Stanton turned around, Radowski was holding a poster board with the words “Will you go to homecoming with me?” and a rose.
She got up and gave him a hug and everyone clapped.
“He told me that he was going to do it, but I was still surprised, I was really nervous,” Stanton said.
