Most people don’t understand how much work it takes to make a kitchen run smoothly, but our staff excels at it.
The cafeteria staff was honored with a 100 on their recent health inspection. In order to get a passing health inspection, they must get a 90 or higher to pass, and the staff has gotten a 100 every year for the past 10 years.
“I just made sure that my staff was doing what they were supposed to do in order to get a 100,”Cafeteria Manager Liz Kown said.
The staff of 16 works hard to maintain their health status.
“Other schools that did not get a 100 didn’t take the extra effort to make sure that their kitchen is clean,” Kown said.
The health inspector of Collin County comes at random times and inspects the kitchen to see if it is being cleaned and food is stored the correct way. If there are any aspects of the kitchen that are not up to par, the kitchen is deducted points.
“It’s an honor to get a 100, because you are not guaranteed a 100; you have to work for it,” Kown said.
