A slice of revenge pie

A slice of revenge pie

Blueberry pie is extremely appealing, until it hits someone’s face.

The Senior Parents Commitee held a Pie-In-The-Face contest to raise money for the senior end-of-year-trip to Main Event. For one week students donated one dollar as one vote for a teacher, coach, or principal of their choice to get blueberries up the nose.

Among the list of Pie-ees is Coach Heath Andrews, who is currently in the lead with over 30 votes.

“It’s awesome. I love it. Kids vote for me because they love me,” Andrews said.

The person with the most votes gets two blueberry pies to the face Friday, May 25, at the yearbook signing party at the end of the school day.

When students voted, their names were put into a drawing bucket. Then at the signing party, three students’ names will be drawn to determine who gets to pie the lucky winner in the face.

“I’m pretty excited to hit Mr. Kirkpatrick,” Junior Aubree’ Keller said.

Abbey’s my name and smiles are my game. I love to be around people and tell jokes. I will do anything for a smile! I mean that figuratively by the way.  I am new to newspaper this year, a class I sort of fell into. I love to write nonfiction and poems, but this is a bit of a new territory. I write stories, news briefs, and take a few pictures. I am actually pretty quiet when I am on a journalistic mission. I just kind of focus on getting the words out I guess.  No pun intended.  I am also working on becoming a teacher: it’s my number one passion next to writing. I hope I bring creative and insightful ideas to newspaper this year and hope to see you around!
