Cooks get served

Cooks get served

Home cooked breakfast delivered before work every day sounds like a pretty cushy gig. The custodians and cafeteria staff got a taste of the good life the morning of March 28, when the Friends Of Rachel club served up some home-cooked scrambled eggs, muffins, juice and assorted fruit.

The FOR club is all about recognizing those who work hard for the benefit of others, and that is exactly what they did this morning.

“We really appreciate it because no one ever cooks for us,” Student Nutritionist Liz Kown said.

Staff walked around a lunch table filling their plates with steaming treats and their glasses with sweet orange juice; some even had plates already waiting for them. The students of FOR club provided laughable small talk and thanked the staff for their hard work.

“No one really gives the lunch ladies or custodians credit for how much they really do,” FOR club Vice President Cassandra Asare-Sackey said. “We want to take the time to show them we care.”
