Everyone knows those people who love the homecoming dances, the proposals and the games, the people who go all out on the special dress days, but there are also people who don’t even care about these things. They would rather watch a movie, relax at home or go to another event rather than spend their Saturday night in a crowded, hot cafeteria.

Even though the homecoming dance is a great way to spend time with friends, freshman Lelani Garza is spending that time at home to just relax.

“Homecoming seems fun but it would be better to be with someone and go. There are cute couples everywhere and it makes me want to puke,” Garza said.

Freshman Anisa Hosseni has another event happening the same day as the dance.

“My friends and I are going to this Halloween themed fun run and I’m going to dress up like a zombie and chase around little kids,” she said “I decided not to go to homecoming because I didn’t want to buy a dress and do my hair. It takes effort.”

Freshman Amyrra Jakaria is staying home to celebrate her birthday with her friends and family.

“It would be nice to celebrate with my friends at the dance, but I feel like my family comes first,” Jakaria said.
