BPA advisor Ted Stephens wins Outstanding Local Advisor
Out of 254, only three are chosen. Normally three advisors in the area of north Texas are chosen to receive the Outstanding Local Advisor award for Business Professionals of America chapters, but only two were picked this year. BPA advisor Ted Stephens is one of these two, exemplifying the excellence of the BPA chapter here.
“I had no idea I had won it,” Stephens said.
To win, the advisor must be nominated by students, then he or she is reviewed as a candidate by the BPA board of directors.
“[The board looks for] leadership, abilities, experience and an outstanding nomination letter,” nominator and senior Hai Phan said.
BPA is much more of a group or team than a class or club.
“Everyone is family,” junior Cassidy Ensley said. “We love each other.”
This is the second year in a row that Stephens has won the Outstanding Local Advisor award.
“It’s a humbling experience that our students take the time to file it,” Stephens said. “BPA is an amazing co-curricular organization.”
