Wylie ISD has no school for students this upcoming Monday, February 21. Even with five days lost due to recent weather conditions, many surrounding districts are sticking to their decision of having Presidents day off except for Garland ISD. All school destricts decide their own calendars and Garland ISD has decided to have one less day added on to the end of the year. Wylie’s School Calendar will most likely be pushed to the end on June 6 instead of the originally planned June 2. According to state law, the schools must have 180 class days and if cold weather conditions occur, the days missed must be made up. The WISD staff will have a professional development day on Monday.
