The first football games of the season took place at home Aug. 28.

Winning 21-6, the freshman blue team plucked the Red Oak Red Hawk’s feathers. Laezhon Johnson, Franceis Kendama and Zach Young recovered fumbles helping to lead their team to victory.

“The Freshman team showed me that they have lots of character and stepped up to the challenge when times got tough,” coach BJ Smith said. “The defense is very solid and the offense did a great job moving the ball on the ground. I look forward to a successful season.”

Stumbling for a two point conversion after a touchdown, the junior varsity team lost 14-13 against the Hawks. The team’s strong defense held solid on key drives.

Catch them next week as they take on the Poteet Pirates Thursday, Sept. 4.
