What year did you graduate from WEHS?

I graduated from WEHS in 2013.

Are there any specific teachers who impacted you?

Jessica Taylor, Amanda Lannan, Rebecca Wimpee, Andie Doty, Jeff Hattaway, and Angela Arp impacted me every day as a student. They helped me discover that I wanted to be a teacher and pushed me to be my best self.

What did you do in high school that helped prepare you for becoming a teacher?

In high school, I was a part of the Education Practicum classes and spent two years interning in a first-grade classroom.

Why did you decide to become a teacher at WEHS?

I decided to become a teacher at Wylie East because I truly love this school and its mission. Wylie East is home to me.

What is the most difficult thing about being a teacher?

The most difficult thing about being a teacher is balancing work and home. This is a job that comes home with you every night, and you are constantly thinking about your students and how to reach them

If you had to go through high school all over again what would you do differently?

If I had to go through high school all over again, I would focus on being kind to everyone I came into contact with.
