Aside from Future Raider night, the Pride of the East organizes another night of fun for the incoming eighth graders known as the side-by-side concert Jan. 5. Every year the concert takes place in the cafeteria. The event is for the incoming students to get a chance to practice with the high school band and to perform a concert for their families. Afterwards, the parents move to the auditorium where the band directors visited with them about what to expect as a band student in high school.
