Sapphire leaders shine through

Mullins makes her mark \\ Getting her belt tied for the first time by 2016-2017 Senior Lieutenant Lexy Rel, sophomore Hannah Mullins earned the rank of Lieutenant May 12. The new officer line received their belts and batons during the first ever officer reception, where they also posed for pictures and did officer strut as a line for the first time.

tAfter three dances, two interviews and week long tryout process, 17 Sapphire officer and sergeant candidates were narrowed down to six lieutenants, five sergeants and one captain. Judged on creativity, leadership, teaching and dancing ability, each of the chosen candidates proved to be the best of the best in these categories.
