Zombies will sprint down the track as soon as the flag is waved and the Zombie Fun Run starts May 20 at 8:30 a.m. The run is hosted by Student Council and Cross Country.

We are hoping to attract East students so that they can have one last fun event to participate in once school finishes up,” STUCO President Carolina Martinez said.

The sign up fee is $15 for students and $25  for adults. Checks must be made out to Wylie East Student Council. Payments are collected the day of the race.

“The money that is collected will be going to The Lot Movement and to the Cross country team,” Student Council Sponsor Breegan Ghoulson said.

The track will be a total of five kilometers and will start on the soccer field. The runners will have three streamers attached to their belts that will act as their number of lives. Runners are required to bring their own belts.

If a zombie grabs one of the participant’s streamers, then that participant loses a life, ” STUCO Vice-President Abel Elias said.

There are multiple age brackets, 19 or younger, 20-29, 30-39 and 40 years or older.

There is no real deadline, people are allowed to sign up the day of the race,”  Martinez said.
