After two weeks of hard work in collecting items for the Christian Care Center, a victor has been named for the second week of competition in this year’s Wylie East Hunger Games.
The odds were yet again in Coach Pohlmeier’s seond period’s favor, and for the second week in a row, they collectively donated more items per person than any other class! In week two, they donated a total of 512 items, which put them at a total of 838 items over the two-week period. They will be rewarded by the Student Council with a glorious feast of ice cream and toppings for their work in week two.
In addition, senior Carley Rogers won a pair of tickets to the Catching Fire movie, compliments of B&B Theater in Wylie, for individually donating the most items. She brought a total of 204 items for the drive. Way to go, Carley!
“We would like to thank every staff member who helped encourage their students to bring donations, for they are all greatly appreciated,” STUCO Sponsor Angela Arp said. “Together we are Catching Fire in the fight against hunger!”
