Make-up checks, wardrobe fitting and flashing lights: every girl’s dream right? Wrong. This is James a.k.a. JayJay Rosales’ dream job when he grows up.

“I started becoming interested in theatre in the sixth grade. We were on a ‘wheel’ rotation to see what electives we liked and I found drama to be something I enjoyed,” Rosales said.

Currently enjoying his junior year in high school with his friends, Rosales thinks ahead to his future career.  After high school, he plans on going to college and pursuing his career in acting.

“I want to go to Collin County Community College because it has one of the most recognized acting departments in Texas,” Rosales said.

Rosales brings drama into the hallways by throwing random accents into conversations. He admits he gains inspiration from many of his favorite actors.

“My biggest inspiration is Heath Ledger because he just gets into his roles and buries himself in his characters. The way he prepares is inspiring and magnificent especially when he is the joker,” Rosales said.

From Broadway musicals to starring in movies, Rosales wants to act either in stage performances or movies.

“JayJay is fantastic; he’s got a lot of raw talent,” theatre teacher Andrea Farnham said. “He’s a natural and he’s also very versatile which means he can play a range of characters. He’s always at rehearsals and bringing new ideas into play.”

His parents support him in reaching his dream and are confident that it’s the right thing for him.

“I just want to be an actor and do what I like to do. I’m really relying on this,” Rosales said.
