She works and has a daughter at this school, she always has a bright smile that shines through her mask, and she is kind to everyone around her. Long story short, she’s Ewelina Lyons.

Where are you from originally and why did you leave?
I’m from Poland, Krakow, I moved to Wylie, Texas, 1997, my dad passed away so my mom wanted to start something new, so here I am.

How long have you worked at this school and how has your experience here been?
I started working at Wylie East 12 years ago, since 2008, I really love it and enjoy the people and seeing the students. I really enjoy the atmosphere at Wylie East.

What is your favorite part of your job and why?
My daughter is in the 11th grade here at East, and so it’s fun seeing her and her friends.

How have things changed this year?

This year has been interesting and different due to this COVID-19, we have more sanitation but we all have to stay safe. We can do this, it’s the Wylie Way.

How many languages do you know?
My first language is Polish, my second one is English.

Where did you go to school?
I’m a Wylie High graduate, class of 2004. as well as a graduate of International Beauty College Number Three.

What is the best part of 2020?
My favorite part of this year is we are all in this together.

What is your favorite food?
My favorite food is Polish food, zapiekanki, pierogi, pickle soup, tomato soup, beats soup, beats salad and so much other stuff.
