The freshman boys basketball team faced Greenville Jan. 24 in the auxiliary gym.

The team is coached by Colby Pohlmeier.

The freshmen were led by Wesley Massey and Ronald Smith who helped defeat the Lions 61-50.

“The key to the victory was our ability to outrebound our opponent,” Pohlmeier said. ” We did an excellent job of blocking out and limited the damage of second chance opportunities.”

Massey scored 22 points.

“My mom buys him a new pair of tennis shoes every time he does well in a game!” sister and alumni Allison Massey said.
