Doing it for Stud

Players honor fallen student with arm bands

A kind-hearted soccer player is missed by her family, friends, school, and last but not least, her soccer team.

Andie Studley was a Wylie High School varsity soccer player who passed away this summer after having a seizure. Club soccer allowed her to become good friends with East team captain Asia Revely. Both girls played with and against each other for nine years.

“Andie was always the one to go the extra mile. If someone was in the back struggling, Andie would always go back to help,” Revely said.

Studley was known for her confidence and her outgoing and smart personality. She made new friends everyday on and off the soccer field. Known as “The Stud,” her nickname comes not only from her last name, but from her talent on the soccer field.

“She was a work horse. We would be losing 5-0 and she would never give up,” Revely said.

Her school and club team members are wearing arm bands during their games in honor of Studley that have her initials and jersey numbers: “AJS #21” and “AJS #9”.

Her relationship with team captain Revely was a “love/hate relationship.”

“We were good friends off the field, enemies on the field. We could punch, kick, slap, anything during a game, but still shake hands with a smile after,” Revely said.

Teammates describe her as a fearless player at games and even at practice.

“She was the person to stay away from and avoid getting in her way,” junior Morgan Cave said.

Studley still inspires her former teammates even after her passing.

“She isn’t only making me stronger but the whole team. We might not have noticed it then, but Andie was a major part of our team. She will forever be missed,” Revely said.
