All three teams battled Sherman last week. Freshman and varsity played at Sherman stadium, while JV played at home.
The freshman white team won 9-6. Ivan Hamm had a 61 yard TD run. The defense got a safety; Michael Newman completed the tackle in end zone.
The freshman blue team also won 27 – 6. C.J. Pierson scored three Touchdowns on runs of 35, nine and two yards. Malik Dean scored a one yard plunge into the end zone.
The junior varsity tied 6-6. According to Rankonesport.com, the offensive standouts were #18 Landon Price WR, #15 Josh Prince TE, #22 Trevor Stacy RB, #53 Brian Rayburn OL. Defensive Standouts were #9 A’Brae Booker Curren DB, #55 Jordan Smalley DL, #25 Tyler Mantsch OLB, #52 Ryan Pence #21 Jason Rone DB, Special Teams: #60 Colin Wallace Snapper, #24 Nnamdi Amadi Gunner.
Varsity unfortunately lost 38 – 49, but still fought hard. Garrett McCain threw for 291 yards and four Touchdowns. McCain also rushed for 104 yds. Jabari Anderson rushed for 226 yards and one touchdown. Quan Jones had an outstanding performance with six catches for 179 yards and three TDs.
