Injury healed in time for Rockwall game
In the heat of the moment, senior Austin Morris made a last-ditch attempt to maintain control of the football at the Highland Park game. On the very last play of the game, the football was fumbled and Morris dove to retrieve it, but took a big hit and dislocated his shoulder.
“The only thing that went through my head was, why can’t I move my arm?’ I was so focused on it that I just completely zoned out,” Morris said.
His absence from the Wylie High game took a toll on the player.
“It feels like the reality has set in; you never know when your last play will be. I feel like I have let the team down,” Morris said.
He will be back for the Rockwall game “no matter what”. Kickoff is at 7:30 at Wilkinson Sanders Memorial Stadium in Rockwall.
