Ray Goren is like no artist I have ever heard. He provides the perfect combination of the soft sounds of the blues with the catchy upbeat sounds of rock.

Goren is a 15-year-old multi-instrumentalist who started playing piano and writing songs before the age of 7. His songs have multiple different meanings, none of them being exactly the same as the other.

‘Those Days’ was creatively written to make you listen carefully, because despite its upbeat and happy sounds, it’s actually about being surrounded by corruption, and how everyone has a day where they want to change. ‘Light My Fire’ is written in a more comical sense and can connect to probably anyone, because it’s about being madly in love with someone and trying your best to not be rejected by him or her. ‘Down and Out’ is one of my favorite songs by Goren, because it clearly describes that you shouldn’t change to be what other people want you to be, they’ll just leave you in the end. ‘Song for Me’ is another beautifully written song by Goren, with a very similar message like ‘Down and Out’ except this one is telling you to just be who you want to be. Then there is his saddest song, ‘Its On You’. This song will really pull on your heartstrings, because its message is about dealing with someone you loved dearly leaving, and doing your very hardest to move on.

I think Goren’s producer Steve Jordan is correct when he says that Ray “is not just a musician. He’s a great singer who writes great songs.” Because Goren is only 15, and to be that good in the music industry is definitely something you don’t see every day.

In my opinion, I want to see Ray get bigger, he is an amazing singer and writes amazing songs. This is the type of music people should be listening to instead of rap or hip hop.
