It is that time of year again where coffee shops start releasing their fall flavored drinks. For some, this is an exciting time, for others not so much. The smell of pumpkin spice and the crisp weather outside: I personally love everything fall! I love all the candles, pumpkin flavored drinks and pumpkin spice flavored treats.

Many different places come out with fall flavored items, all of which have different flavors of pumpkin and some taste more like pumpkin than others. There are many different ways to make them and not all of them are pumpkin-spiced flavored.

On a scale of 1-10, here are the coffee shops with the best fall-flavored drinks.

Dunkin’ Donuts

Dunkin’ Donuts came out with their fall drinks first. They came out Aug. 18 and I am typically not a big fan of Dunkin’, but I of course needed to try their fall drinks and see what I thought. I got a medium 16 oz Iced Pumpkin Spice Latte which cost $4.29. This has definitely been my favorite out of all the pumpkin coffees I have tried so far. It had the best pumpkin flavor to sweetness ratio.

Starbucks

I definitely got that first sip feeling when I tried Starbucks Pumpkin Cream cold brew. Starbucks came out with their fall drinks Aug. 24. I pretty much love everything at Starbucks, but the price. I got a Grande 16 oz pumpkin cream cold brew for $4.75. This is definitely more bitter than Dunkin’ but it is still really good. The pumpkin cream cold brew is one of the most popular fall drinks at Starbucks. It has a pretty good pumpkin flavor without being overly sweet.

Blackrock Coffee Bar:

Blackrock coffee Bar is a new Coffee shop in Wylie and most people around here LOVE it. Blackrock was the last coffee shop to release their fall drinks, Sept. 10. I got a medium 16 oz Shaken Iced Pumpkin Espresso with oat milk for 4.50. This was definitely my least favorite drink. I took two sips and threw it away. It had a very strong bitter coffee taste and it didn’t taste anything like pumpkin. I definitely would not order this one again, nor would I recommend it to anyone.

All of these coffee shops have different flavors and styles of their fall drinks, but not all of them are good and some of them need to step up their game! Here is the final result:

Pumpkin flavor winner: Dunkin’ Donuts

Sweetness winner: Starbucks

Bitterness of the coffee winner: Blackrock Coffee Bar

Overall winner:  Dunkin’ donuts
