The Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps works out for physical training every Friday, but Oct. 16 was a much different physical training.

The U.S. Army recruiters joined their workout.

From pushups to sit-ups, to balance and running exercises, all of the workouts were team based and needed leadership for them to work properly.

This part was hardest because carrying someone took four people and we had to work together or we would drop [the person] off before we meant to.

“The push-ups were the best part because it made my team stand out, being that we did 327 of them,” senior Bryan Homechanh-Nguyen said.

One of the exercises they performed was a set of 25 pushups, put the stretcher into place then carry a cadet 100 yards as fast as possible.

“This part was hardest because carrying someone took four people and we had to work together or we would drop [the person] off before we meant to,” Homechanh-Nguyen said.

Although the training was hard, everyone participated and worked together with the guidance of the Army recruiters.

“The training was a good way to build friendship, and bonds with the recruiters and the cadets with each other,” Sergeant Lisa Breuer said.
