The blood drive broke its record for the amount of units of blood collected May 29.

English IV teacher and National Honor Society sponsor Mrs. Michelle Lindsay organizes the event each year held in the auxiliary gym.

This year Lindsay brought in more partners to have even more donors for the blood drive.

“For the blood drive this year we partnered with the Rotary Club to bring in more donors and more money,” Lindsay said.

Donating blood can be used to save lives and can only come from donors.

The previous record of units of blood donated for the drive was 99 units.

NHS collected 117 units of blood this time, beating their previous record by 18 units of blood.

“With the help of the donors and the students donating, we were able to beat our own record and donate many units of blood,” Lindsay said.
