Students allow pride in talents to shine by participating in annual talent show

The annual talent show which consisted of acts including dancing and singing was hosted by Student Council Feb. 12. The First through third place winners were awarded and then there was a fan favorite award voted on by fans.

Fans voted for fan favorite by donating money to their favorite act. They collected $257 that was given to the Collin County Children’s Advocacy Center.

“Student Council is very grateful for the money raised and we are happy that we could support such a wonderful organization that does so much good for children in our area,” senior Sarah Ponce, member of Student Council, said.

Seniors Libby Villegas and Jordan Dorsey’s group, “Wikid Duo,” took home first place and Fan Favorite. Dorsey played the piano while Villegas sang a medley arrangement.

“The only thing I could think about when we won first place was ‘finally,’” Villegas said.

Seniors Marison Clayton, Kaitlyn Sanders and Kelsey Morris also known as the “Tritonix” were awarded second place with their song White Winter Hymnal.

“I truly enjoyed singing with my friends,” Clayton said. “We were all very excited and grateful to have won second place; it made our last talent show very memorable.”

Senior Nicholas Scott also referred to as “Abstrakt” won third place for his dance performance to the song Chains.
