Senior Hannah Burns’ dance academy dances to new hit song “Shake it Off” in a Flash Mob at Raising Cane’s. Taylor Swift saw the video on YouTube and tweeted about it.

Lights, camera, flash mob. It started as a fun dance video and became a locally famous video thanks to Kiss F.M. radio host Kellie Rasberry who tweeted about it. It finally made its way to “Shake it off” singer Taylor Swift herself.

Swift tweeted Dimensions Dance’s flash mob video to her new hit single “Shake it off”:

“So @markromanek just sent me this and I am hyperventilating with joy over it. Thank you Dimensions Dance,” Swift tweeted.

The video was filmed at a Raising Cane’s in Lewisville.

“We thought Cane’s would be more impressive than just a mall,” senior Hannah Burns said.

The dancers practiced two nights for just two hours before performing and getting the video in one take.

“It was so cool to have the opportunity to do this,” Burns said.

Swift even mentioned her appreciation for the video at the Video Music Awards while being interviewed.

“It was crazy that she talked about it on the VMAs,” Burns said. “I felt kind of famous to be honest.”

The video received over 9,000 retweets and over 15,000 favorites on Twitter.

“I didn’t expect it to go as viral as it did,” Burns said.

A few of the dancers appeared on Good Morning Dallas to perform and speak about the flash mob.

“I was overjoyed because I didn’t think Taylor Swift would actually see it or it be this big of a deal,” Burns said. “It was a great experience.”
