Three of the best and brightest students won the National Hispanic Recognition Program award.
Seniors Paola Balentine, Gabriel Hernandez, this year’s valedictorian, and Joshua Garza are these deserving winners.
“This program is to recognize Hispanic students that excel in academics,” Hernandez said.
Students must take the PSAT during their junior year and have a 3.0 or higher GPA to qualify for the NHRP.
According to collegebord.com NHRP honors about 5,000 students across the country a year. Students do not receive compensation for winning but it is an academic achievement.
