Thirty four Wylie East art students under the direction of Jennifer Thompson and Angela Gilpin competed in the Regional Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE) held at Jasper High School.  The students were judged on both the visual aspects of their artwork and on an interview with a juror where they discussed the elements of design and the technical processes that went into their work.  Forty works of art from WEHS received the highest rating and were awarded medals.  Marion Wright, Lesley Howard, and Michelle Luu also advanced to the State VASE competition, which will be held at Bryan High School April 5.  Congratulations to these outstanding student artists!
