The human growth and development classes are making replicas of the body. Mrs. Stephanie Shepard’s class started off a new unit with making the female reproductive organs out of Playdoh Oct. 4.
“I thought it was strange and some people weren’t going to be mature enough to handle it,” junior Allie Huerta said.
The point of this project was to learn the basics of the female body as part of the curriculum.
Some students giggled, some tried to look completely unembarrassed but all laughed at the thought of making female organs out of Playdoh.
“I laughed because you don’t expect a teacher to ask you to make girl parts,” junior Tiffani Jordan said.
Mrs. Shepard says her teaching methods maybe “unorthodox” but very effective.
“All my students leave knowing the reproductive system,” Mrs. Shepard said.
