Homecoming week kicks off with the Homecoming parade and pep rally Oct. 7. at 6:30 p.m. in downtown Wylie. Although this event falls on fair day, Raiders are depending on students and families to fill the streets with energy and lots of blue. There is no fee to attend this event. Any school, group or organization could have entered a float for the parade. This is the first year awards will be given at the end of the parade to the first, second, and third place homecoming floats. The carnival will not take place this year.

“Our decision has not been finalized but Student Council will probably not have a float due to a lack of people, but we will walk through the parade with a banner that says STUCO,” junior Kelsie Morris said.

The homecoming game is at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 11 at WISD stadium. The team will play the Sherman Bearcats. At Halftime, Raider Royalty will be announced and crowned for the 2013-2014 school year.

Tickets to the game in advance are $3 for students and $5 for adults and at the game are $5 for students and $7 for adults.

The homecoming dance is from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Oct. 7 in the cafeteria. It is hosted by the Sapphires and will wrap up homecoming week. All students are welcome and may bring dates from other schools as long as that individual is approved by a principal. Tickets are on sale in advance in the office for a discounted price of $20 and for sale at the dance for $25.
