Choir is trying out for the All State regionals in Coppell Oct. 1. If the choir makes it past the first round it separates into two groups, boys and girls and they perform separately. From there, the top 15 from the whole district are chosen and in the last round the top five are chosen during homecoming week.
Junior Libby Villega was cut after the second round, but she’s been practicing nonstop the past few weeks.
“Making it past the first round of all state is huge itself,” Villega said
Junior Kaitlyn Sanders is confident choir will make it past the first round with flying colors.
“I’m confident that our choir is the best they can be, and I know the judges will see that too,” Sanders said.
The thrill of performing is what all performers love. Junior Isabel Gutierrez knows the chances of making it to the top five are slim, but tries out anyway.
“I think it’s good to perform because it teaches them to be confident in their singing, and to hear constructive criticism,” Gutierrez said.
