Every year, Raiders for Christ invites students to meet for a moment of worship at the nationally recognized event, See You at the Pole.
They started the event off with two songs that were led by sophomore Clay Mobley and senior Gabe Hernandez.
“To sing with everyone felt like singing as one. There were people getting so into it that they were closing their eyes while singing, raising their hands, and some even knew the lyrics by heart,” sophomore Camila Garcia said.
Sophomore Victoria Rushing was translating the songs in sign language.
“It was inspiring seeing someone so devoted enough to sign the songs,” Garcia said.
Hernandez afterwards led a strong message to all his student peers.
“His words made me rethink a lot of things and change most things I do. His speech pumped me up to be a better person than I am now,” Garcia said.
Everyone who attended came together to share what they believed in and got a message out of it.
“It was really amazing to see how many people that go to our school believe in the same things that I do, I had no idea,” Garcia said.
