The Pride of East brought sounds of not only music but money in buckets to streets of Wylie. Saturday, Sept. 7, the band had a Marchathon fundraiser from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The band marched five miles through Wylie neighborhoods playing their instruments through the streets trying to raise money.
“I never really got tired just really hot. It started to get pretty hot around 11 which was around mile four,” trumpet player junior Colton Taylor said.
The band raised $1,300 and after everybody turns in their pledges the profit should be $1,700. This money is going towards purchasing a simi trailer so the band does not have three small trailers to haul to each game.
“So far we have raised quite a bit of money. I am happy with our progress,” junior Colleen Waggoner said.
