The J.V. softball girls battled the North Garland Raiders in their game Wed, Feb.21. Even though it was a little chilly outside the girls played a hard game and finished out on top with a victory of 11-5. Freshman Jamie Curtis was the starting pitcher. There were multiple highlights of the game including a good double play by sophomore Rachel Porterfield and freshman Libby Foster hit a pop up for a RBI putting runs on the board.
Sophomore Corrie Poovey scored three times against North Garland.
“In this game I really felt accomplished when I made three runs, “Poovey said.
Sophomore Emily McClanahan scored a run in the fourth inning.
“I felt really good about winning this game, and for it being the second district game of the season we have won,” McClanahan said. “I feel pretty happy.”
