Where are you planning to go to college after high school?
Huong, you are president of HOSA, how did you manage extracurricular activities and focus on academics?
I scheduled out my time in order for there not to be conflicts and I also prioritize my tasks so that I get things done when they need to be done.
You both are Birmingham Scholars and received the highest scholarships this year. How does it feel to be recognized for all the hard work you put into your academic life?
It makes me feel like I’m being appreciated which is nice and I also feel encouraged to do well in my post secondary education.
You both have stayed in the same position for four years straight. Describe the work effort you maintained to remain at the top of your class.
I followed my original work ethic of just trying my best and getting my work done. I also try not to get stressed out because that never helps.
How does it feel to be an inspiration to other first generation Asian-American students who get to witness your success?
I never imagined I would be someone’s inspiration so it’s a great honor and also encourages me to keep going so I can continue to set a good example.
What was the hardest class you took in all four years on campus?
AP Chem, but the class that I hated the most is probably AP Seminar
If you could give advice to yourself as a freshman, what would it be?
I would tell myself to chill out and enjoy school and hanging out with friends because it only gets harder.
