Call the Shots \\ Lighting her candle, Treasurer Emily Combest, puts a start to the NHS ceremony Nov. 15. Each officer lit a candle on the table to signify the four criteria: scholarship, service, leadership and power. “I love getting to facilitate events as an officer to help my classmates and the community,” Combest said.

She’s NHS Treasurer, she is a Sapphire Sergeant, she is a Spanish Honor Society member, she loves mint chocolate chip ice cream, and she hates waking up early. Long story short, she’s Emily Combest.
What is one of your favorite memories from high school?
My favorite memory is getting breakfast after field practice with my friends.
Who is a celebrity you would love to have dinner with and why?
I would have dinner with Taylor Swift because she is just AMAZING!
What do you want to do when you get out of high school?
After high school, I am going to Texas Tech to study biochem and kinesiology.
What is your favorite class right now and why?
Right now my favorite class is Dual Credit American Literature with Coach Simmons but overall my favorite was AP Chem with Mr. Peri.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Hopefully in 10 years I’ll be working as a physical therapist.
What was your favorite thing you’ve done as an NHS officer?
Getting to deliver the toy donations to the children’s hospital!
