Ever get in trouble in high school?

When I was a sophomore, I was pressured into writing a paper for someone else. I was so worried about being accepted that I did not realize the gravity of the situation. My English teacher knew, after reading the paper, that I had written it. Instead of punishing me, she encouraged me to value myself and my work–not allowing others to take advantage of me.

My mom always used to say, “you go to college with people who are like you, you go to high school with people who are near you.” College is where you find your place in this world.
