A new app starting the 2025-2026 school year called FLEX by Securely has been implemented. This app is made for students to put their tutorials times for each day during Power Hour.
“It helps me know where my friends and I are going so we don’t have to walk around to find each other,” sophomore Aubrie Smith said. “ The cafeteria is much less crowded and it allows me to find a seat with my friends and the lines are a lot shorter.”
Students have 30 minutes to eat lunch and 30 minutes to go to their scheduled tutorial class. Upperclassmen can stay off campus the whole lunch period if a ride is available for them.
The FLEX app has been quite an adjustment for some students, especially to upperclassmen who are not used to having to put in where they are going to be during lunch.
“I dislike how sometimes the app might glitch and take off the option you selected,” junior Maci McCray said.
Although there are some technical difficulties, FLEX ultimately helps students turn their work in on time and go to tutorials when needed.
“FLEX has helped me stay organized by making sure I have all of my work finished and turned in,” McCray said. “It helps me get my work done.”
Students who procrastinate a lot are finding that FLEX is very helpful to them. Now, Power Hour can help students go to tutorials without distractions.
“I used to spend my Power Hour sitting by the dance room and procrastinating on my homework,” Smith said. “Now with FLEX, I am able to choose to go to classes if I need to work on assignments and actually go instead of telling myself I’ll go ask my teacher a question about an assignment and end up not going and just trying to figure it out on my own.”
