Ms. Alisa Bailey is new to the Wylie East faculty this year. She can be found in room 225, surrounded by creepy decorations, where she teaches humanities.
Before Wylie East High School, what were you doing?
I taught at Burnett Junior High for seven years. Before that, I taught at Westbrook High School in Beaumont Texas. I’ve been teaching for twenty one years in total.
What brought you to Wylie?
The people were nice. I would come up here on vacation to see my brother, and I was always amazed by how nice the people were.
What are your goals for this year?
This year, my biggest goal is to improve my student’s scores.
What are your hobbies?
I like building dollhouses. Giant dollhouses.
How did you get into teaching humanities and teaching in the English department?
I always disliked English until high school, where I had a really good teacher who taught me about Shakespeare. That was when I fell in love with Shakespeare- and English.
What’s your favorite part about working at Wylie East High School?
My favorite part is the kids. I love the kids here.
What’s the hardest part about being a teacher?
The hardest part is paperwork.
