Tell me about yourself. Hobbies, goals, interests, opinions?

I am a sophomore at Wylie East. My career goal is to become a nurse. I was accepted into CNA which is a certified nurse’s aide class. It’s a class where you get to work in a nursing home or a hospital and assist people who have difficult times doing things on their own. We get to volunteer at long term care facilities. For the first semester you just learn about it, and in the second semester you actually do it and volunteer. Only 40 people were accepted into the program and I was so excited when I got the acceptance email. Besides that, I also play club volleyball and work at PSA, helping with volleyball games.

When and why did you become interested in being a doctor?

A lot of my family members are in the medical field. I often find myself helping people. I find myself helping others, and in a way that helps myself because it brings me joy. Whenever I assist someone, it makes me feel better about myself and more joyful.

Tell me about your passion for the medical field.

I am passionate about the medical field because it’s something that interests me. It’s something that I completely understand, unlike economics or math.

What type of doctor do you want to be?

I know that I want to work in the medical field and likely be a nurse but I’m not sure the specifics yet. I’m taking CNA to figure out what I want to do specifically and narrow down my options.What and who inspires you?

My mom because she’s a nurse and that’s what I want to do.

Do you enjoy your endorsement currently? What do you do in it?

I will take medical terminology this year. We use textbooks and go by every system in the body and learn functions and terminology. In a way, it’s like a language course. Our units are online chapters and we have to learn acronyms and abbreviations and medical words. It’s also a hands-on class when we aren’t in the textbooks.

Tell me about the program you were accepted into.

CNA which is a class I’m very excited about and I can get real life experience.

What are your plans for after high school?

I want to go to college and into nursing school.

What are your goals for the future?

I want to get a scholarship, go to college and have a job.
