Dancing all over the floor, surrounded by teammates, the Sapphires competed in Frisco at the Crowd Pleasers North Dallas Showcase Feb. 11.

The competition in Frisco was a competition between 10 Sapphire teams.

“It was a hard competition, we worked hard which paid off; however I think we could have done better,” sophomore Haylee Elmore said.

The competition also allowed them to working on their dancing skills.

“The competition is a great way for us to challenge ourselves and improve,” senior Sierra Vance said.

The competition is not only a day for dancing and competing, since the Sapphires have a lot of free time, they have time to connect with each other.

“The day was fun but tiring as well. I created good memories and got to connect with my team,” senior Ashley Roman said.

At the competition the girls performed several different dances.

“The jazz dance was my favorite; I love the song, the techniques and the pace is faster,” Roman said.

Being a Sapphire is not only about dancing, the looks are important to them too. They wear different costumes with the different dances.

“Our costumes are really sparkly, they require many safety pins and they can be hard to dance in, but that’s what makes dancing fun,” Vance said.
